What types of funding are accepted?
Kidsource aims to serve every child that is referred to our clinic regardless of funding source. The usual sources of funding accepted is Medicaid, insurance, private pay, Coop, and vouchers through the Early Intervention/First Connections program (federal funding). Below you will find a brief description of funding sources and what it covers.
Medicaid: Therapies received depend on the type of Medicaid that a child has. For instance, ARKids A, Tefra, SSI, and general Medicaid will cover all therapies. However ARKids B will only cover Speech with a $10 co-pay per session.
Insurance: We can bill your insurance company; however, most do not pay over “X” amount of visits per year, and can sometimes leave the parent/caregiver with a hefty balance to pay. The type of therapy that is covered depends on the type of insurance you carry.
So, in instances where insurance is the only source of funding, we refer the child to one of the following sources so that the parent can have peace of mind that their child is receiving the treatment they need to meet functional goals/age appropriate skills without the hefty balance to worry about. These sources include the Early Intervention/First Connection program and Dawson or Tri-District Coops.
Early Intervention/First Connections program: This is a federally funded program for children ages birth to three. The child would be referred to the Service Coordinator for their county so that an intake can be made. After the intake process, a developmental evaluation is given to determine eligibility and any other therapy that may be needed. Not every center is an early intervention provider, however, Kidsource is.
Dawson or Tri-District Coops: This program serves children from age’s three to five. A referral is often made to the coop if a child doesn’t have funding yet still need additional services.
